I am not just a cat lover but also a dog lover. These past few days while resting out I enjoyed watching movies online, not just an ordinary movie but extra-ordinary because it is all about dogs, the loyalty of dogs and etc., I have watched few good movies but a Korean movie entitled Hearty Paws makes me cry so much.  I was carried away, my husband laughed on me and keep saying why I am crying it is just a movie.  It is really just a movie, but a heart-warming one.

The plot of the movie -  11-year-old Chan-yi is looking after his lovely younger sister So-yi, by himself ever since their mother left them to find her own future. Despite their desperate situation of being abandoned by family and neighbors, these kids try their best to carry on life. One day, a little puppy joins this small family as Chan-yi steals it from an old couple’s kennel as a gift his sister’s birthday. Especially clever, this dog, whose name is “Ma-eum”, returns the love received from his new family with great loyalty and it seems as though their happiness would continue forever…only until a sudden accident brings them into collapse.

Hearty Paws is all about two siblings who are left alone by their mother to their Aunt but their Aunt and her husband move to another place and cannot take care of them anymore.  So they’re left alone with Hearty (the dog), they are  happy together. One day while playing on the ice field Chan needs to answer the call of nature in the nearby bushes so he  left So-yi and Hearty telling his younger sister to wait for him and don’t wander around. Eventually Hearty found something that caught his attention and run for it (kite), So-yi followed him and the accident happens.

Chan decided to left the country side with So-yi’s death, he also left Hearty as he was angry with him (it feels like he blame the dog why he lost his younger sister). He went to Busan to find their mother, while Hearty following his trail. He eventually found her  mother but she is set to move to USA with her boyfriend.  Chan ended up in the street upon staying on her mother for one night and not able to tell her what happened to So-yi as he feels their mother don’t have a single care for them.

Chan met the two kids in the bus who beg to people and they ended up together under the leader of begging syndicate, as the boss want his sister’s bag (which he always carry since he left the country side) to throw away he did it himself carrying the dog’s boss (Becky) so he can’t run away, Hearty saw him on the street locker so he went to the other side of the street but Chan is not there anymore. Hearty stayed in the place where Chan left So-yi’s bag and guarded it like a master, the next morning cops are trying to catch Hearty. Chan and her begging partner witness it and Chan declare the ownership of the dog but instead of feeling happy seeing Hearty he was mad at him and try to kick him away but Hearty still follow him no matter how he treats him.

The girl with him decided to take Hearty with them and the trials and obstacle begins, I can’t tell the story anymore as I don’t wanna spoil the movie for you. All I can say prepare a box of tissue in your side if you decided to watch this because I ended up with a wet shirt and red eyes.

This is really a good movie you should watch. It is very emotional and heart warming movie., I feel like wanting to kiss and hug the dog. This is a movie that will help you realized animals had feelings too, it makes me remember my pets way back then and made me miss them.,
