Where to stay in Gatwick
If you’re spending a night or more at Gatwick, there are options to suit a range of tastes and budgets. If you want to splurge, the Sofitel Hotel is linked by a covered walkway to the North Terminal. Offering a variety of rooms, from the standard ‘classic’ to a luxury suite which gives you access to the club lounge, the hotel is ideal for business travellers or families alike.
Similarly, if you want to stay at one of the more luxurious Gatwick hotels, you can access the Hilton Hotel via a covered walkway, just a few minutes from the South Terminal. Like the Sofitel, the Hilton offers a variety of rooms, depending on your budget, and has great family accommodation. Both of these hotels offer all the amenities you would expect, including great dining opportunities, business facilities and on-site car parking, which you can purchase as part of a package.
Another fantastic option is to stay at Yotel, one of Gatwick’s newest hotels. Located within the South terminal, Yotel offers what will be, for many travellers, a new experience. You can stay in a standard or premium ‘cabin’ typically measuring just 10 square metres. However, the compact size and affordable price tag do not mean that comfort has been sacrificed. The cabins are cosy, with luxurious sheets, a monsoon shower, workstation and free Wi-Fi. They even provide 24 hour cabin service if you fancy a snack. If you’re not staying overnight, don’t worry. You can book into a cabin to get a few hours’ rest whilst waiting for your plane.
Within easy distance of the airport, you will find most of the big name hotel chains. Located outside the terminal buildings are shuttle buses to a variety of Gatwick Hotels including the wallet friendly Travelodge and Premier Inn, both of which provide the basic amenities you would expect, in comfortable surroundings. Car parking is available, at a cost.
If bed and breakfast accommodation is more to your taste, you will find a variety of family run establishments within easy distance of the airport. Many offer airport transfers and holiday parking, so you can leave your car whilst you are away.
Whatever your budget and accommodation preferences, you will find something to suit amongst the varied hotels at Gatwick. Choose whichever suits your price range and travel needs. If you want to make a quick getaway in the morning with relatively little fuss, your best bet is to choose one of the fantastic hotels located adjacent to the terminal buildings. Wherever you decide to stay, book in advance to ensure you get the room you want. Book as far in advance as possible, and you may also get a great deal.
